Snareweight 018-V1 – Black Vegan Leather Model

After a couple years of testing, Snareweight is stoked to have wrapped up our Vegan Leather Model, the V1. It is weighted with a 3.5 ounce (100 gram) chrome body, a magnet, felt, and strong vegan leather.

We here at the shop think it dampens in a new way, kind of in between our M1b and our Brass #5 model, and are loving the fact we took our M1 footprint and added the right amount of weight to get a dampened, full of tone, drum sound.

Also the chrome color matches most hardware and seems to belong, out of the way, and right along the rim of the hoop.

"Does the V1 100gram get an amount of dampening somewhere between M1b and M80? Or does it get more than the M80?"

It's about the same as the M1 BUT does sound different. Because of the weight and the fact it sits out and away from the rim of the drum, it keeps the ring of the shell and adds a bit of crisp clarity and compression. It also shortens the lower frequency humm like our brass #5 model which tightens up the drum. An M80 fully open definitely has the most dampening but less drum shell openness.

Note: We love the V1 at the shop but note it is made to shorten the sustain but keep the good ring. It won't dampen all the ring from your snare but tighten it up and give it more punch keeping the shell open around the rim of the drum.

*Remember the V1 will work with any size drum;(8",9,10,12,13,14,16,18, etc.) Dampen in a snap or disengage even faster with the magnetic on/off feature. Works with triple flange hoops, die cast, angel hoops, true hoops, 1/4" wood."

Snareweight 017-F1 Fader

Hey Everybody! Mat here Snareweight, after a few years of working on it, we have our new Fader F1 Series for the bottom resonant drum heads used to "control the sustain" now available on our site.

For those drummers looking to tighten up your toms and especially floor, getting rid of the warble of the bottom head, controlling the decay and punch, this one is for you. Especially good for recording.

USE: By moving the slider button you can choose different amounts of bottom head dampening all the way to an "off" position. Also, there is a nob to loosen or tighten tension of the leather damper that meets the drum head as well.

** For Use With Triple Flange Hoops and Die Cast Only**
