Founded in 1870, ACME Whistles is the world’s largest and most famous producer of whistles. Our rich history began when founder, Joseph Hudson, invented the very first whistle in response to a tender for the Metropolitan Police in the UK. Since then, through a century and a half of continued innovation, we have built a global reputation as market leaders in every field. It is no exaggeration to say that every whistle in the world owes its existence to us. Our whistles were used on HMS Titanic, by soldiers in both World Wars and by the 1966 World Cup referee who blew victory for England. Our whistles continue to be used by servicemen and women, high profile sports referees, dog trainers and orchestras around the world and we manufacture specialists whistles for a huge range of industries and hobbies. We still manufacture tried-and-tested classic whistles, such as the ACME Thunderer and Tornado, and we continue to file new patents and set new standards of excellence for our industry.
